God does not love everyone the same (Part 2)

Earning Gods love; (first see part 1)

Sounds ridiculous doesn’t it?

2Co 9:7  Each one, as he purposes in his heart, let him give; not of grief, or of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.

OK so does this verse imply that God has a special love for cheerful givers?

Let us look at the word love. In this verse the word Love refers to agapaō this is true unconditional love in its entirety. I am still trying to get my head around why the Bible says God (Unconditionally and completely loves) a cheerful giver? I think it is safe to say this verse does not suggest that God has special feelings but rather the same feelings for everyone including cheerful givers. In this regard anyway.

Let’s move on

Joh 16:27  for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came out from God.

Is this a reason for God to love you? Love here is phileō. Phile means friend. This is Definitely the type of love that is earned, or one that can grow at least. So Jesus says because you phileō me God will phileō you. Very interesting indeed!

What I take from this so far is that God loves everyone in the spiritual sense, it is a full and Complete unconditional love. But there is another side to Gods love that is simply reserved for the Jesus Christ follower / friend. Aside from the Agape love, Does God delight in you or can He call you friend?

That is it for part 2 keep an eye open  for the next post where we look at a few more verses and try conclude.
